At the time of its release, it made a big stir, as it stars Kristine DeBell, who had just appeared on the cover of Playboy. Whether she is the "most beautiful girl in the world" (as claimed here) is a matter of taste, but she is very easy on the eyes, and is certainly enjoying herself. (In a career move that would be impossible now, she moved on to the soap opera The Young and the Restless.)

It's is a tremendously entertaining, albeit loose, adaptation of Through the Looking Glass, and is remarkably true to the original story given that it's a porn flick. The Red Queen here simply defines "Do-Me Feminism." The production values were very high for a porn movie of the time (not a high bar to jump over, we realize). The DVD transfer has a few scratches, dirty, and a bit of sprocket jitter in places, but we should be happy that Arrow found a usable print at all.

This is not a wall-to-wall sexfest; it actually takes time to have a plot and jokes and musical numbers. Ah, those were the days.

A last note: There has been some controversy over whether or not DeBell actually did the sex scenes, or whether there was (gasp!) a body double. We'll admit that it is not impossible that a double was used, but, at present, we're in the DeBell-did-it camp. (1976, 90 min.)
