Comstock specializes in finding real people who are willing to speak frankly about their sex lives, and demonstrate those sex lives on camera, and the latest film follows the same documentary premise, intercutting interviews with brief snippets of a sex scene, followed by the complete scene. 	Chemistry, Volume 2 Tristan Taormino Vivid/ Smart Ass Chemistry, Volume 2 is the follow-up to Tristan Taormino's award-winning and celebrated "reality porn" release Chemistry. The premise here is essentially the same: Tristan locked eight porn stars in a house for 36 hours, interviewed them, and filmed them having sex — with no script and no direction beyond being told who to sleep with, so they could do whatever they like. The group dynamics are fascinating, the sex is crazy hot, and the production values are great. The interviews, which provide real insight into life in the business, are awesome, too. It's a great film all around, and including the bonus features, there are probably around five hours of footage, so there's plenty to sink your teeth into. It differs from most reality shows principally in the lack of conflict and "villains." Perhaps it's because they were only in a house together for a day and a half, but they all seem to get along remarkably well, and overall they radiate positivity. (Which doesn't mean none of them critique the porn business, but their complaints tend to have more to do with institutional problems than interpersonal ones.) 	Chemistry, Volume 3 Tristan Taormino Chemistry, Volume 3 is the latest in Tristan Taormino's groundbreaking "reality porn" series, and it's hot, funny, and enlightening. Six well-known adult film stars — Roxy DeVille, Hillary Scott, Jada Fire, Christian, Derrick Pierce, and Steven St. Croix — were locked in a house for 36 hours, filmed constantly, periodically interviewed, and encouraged to fuck one another any way at any time, with no direction. The result is a three-and-a-half hour film with about nine actual sex scenes and countless scenes of conversation, confession, laughter, and goofing around. If you're interested in wall-to-wall-sex, this isn't for you, but if you have any curiosity about the real people in porn, this is a rare chance to look behind the curtain. Derrick Pierce and Roxy DeVille are especially interesting with an ongoing discussion on the dynamics of rough sex (choking, slapping, etc.) — when it's hot and when it's not, when it's acceptable and when it crosses a line. Roxy is totally hilarious, too, presenting a non-stop stream of jokes and stories and weirdness, including cartoon voices and her strange predilection for rolling around in empty bathtubs. Hillary is, as always, flat-out adorable, and Jada doesn't take crap from anybody. They all talk about what they like, and don't like, in their personal and professional sex lives, and discuss strategies for getting through especially tough days on the job. The best sex scenes involve Roxy and Derrick together and Hillary and Christian together, but there are plenty of threesomes, foursomes, and shower sex (poor Christian could barely wash himself without getting ambushed). There's not much in the way of interpersonal drama, with everyone pretty much getting along, so don't expect the petty slapfights typical of most reality shows. It's nice to see performers talking so openly and honestly, and having so much fun. 	Taken Veronica Hart Taken is another fine film directed by Veronica Hart which happens to hit all of the elements that we look for in a Couple's Video (see the top of the Couple's Videos section to see what those are). It's a plot-oriented, romance novel-type story of a rich housewife/mother (Ginger Lynn) who's kidnapped by a stranger (Evan Stone, looking very Fabio — even wearing a white ruffled shirt in one scene) and kept captive until she falls in love with him. The film is mostly populated with performers approaching (or in the case of Hirschel Savage, about to leave) their forties, but they're all quite fit and attractive and still very sexy to watch. 	Tell Me What You Want Jonathan Morgan Wicked Pictures Jonathan Morgan made his name making fun, light pictures... which this is not. However, he is still one of the best and most imaginative directors working in porn. 	The Wild Search Shine Louise Houston Pink and White/Blowfish Video The Wild Search is from indie auteur Shine Louise Houston, whose earlier releases The Crash Pad and Superfreak garnered her accolades from feminist porn fans and queers of various persuasions. Like her previous movies, The Wild Search is a tour-de-force of lesbian sex, featuring lots of hot butches and femmes from the San Francisco area. This is the pure product. Imagine one of those National Geographic programs, with cameras watching lions from the distance, only instead of lions, they're watching lesbians. The fundamental joke is that the people having sex don't notice the camera crew in their apartment or in the bar, and there's a really funny bit of business with a "decoy lesbian," a mannequin dressed up and sent out to attract the natives. All that's cute and innovative, but what about the sex? This is a film made by and for lesbians, but given the tastes of most heterosexual men, they're likely to enjoy this, too, and it might even dispel some silly misconceptions about how women have sex. (Short answer: they have sex in all sorts of awesome ways.) The sex scenes are often really intense, especially a long three-way with two women wearing strap-ons. The videography and art design are gorgeous, sometimes stunning. Although it's not really a "bondage" movie, there's fair amount of very attractive rope bondage, too, and one scene with an actress lashed to a post that's definitely a bit more extreme than we've seen in mainstream porn for a while. And if AVN creates a "Best and Most Thorough Use of Chopsticks" award, this is a shoo-in. All of the scenes are worth watching, repeatedly, at great length. The performers are very attractive, both male and female, and there's a lot more female wetness than we usually seen in a mainstream porn movie. If you are looking for something as interesting and beautiful as a Michael Ninn movie, without Ninn's frenetic editing or sense of cool reserve, Celeste (and this movie) are the movies for you. 	Wedding Bell Blues Jonathan Morgan Wicked Pretty brunette Kirsten Price has the makings of a real star, and she has a lot of fun in Wedding Bell Blues, where she plays a bride with a serious case of wedding-day-jitters. She loves her fiancé (Chris Cannon), but she has some concerns... mainly that, after getting married, she won't be able to fulfill her sexual fantasies. (She even has a "Fuck It List" — as opposed to a Bucket List — of things she'd like to do before her life "ends" with marriage.) Like fucking Justice Young in a bar in Mexico, a fantasy we soon see dramatized. Her family and bridesmaids try to reassure her, rather ineptly, with Nicole Sheridan (improbably cast as Kirsten's mother) telling her a story of fucking a black man (Sean Michaels) before her own wedding. Nicole is cute in pink lingerie, and Michaels enjoys her thoroughly, with a fantastic blowjob. Samantha Sin tells a story about hiking with her husband in a forest known to harbor a serial killer — she gets off on danger, and Dane Cross takes advantage. She's a very expressive actress, and it's a nice scene. Randy Spears, as her priest, tells about his depraved past... as a cross-dressing stripper. Yes, Randy Spears in a wig and schoolgirl skirt, giving a woman in boy-drag a lapdance. It's extremely silly, but soon his client is on her knee sucking him off. We skip over the wedding ceremony itself and go straight to the honeymoon. Kirsten's fears are proved boundless, as her husband is sufficiently passionate... and Kirsten's wedding-night lingerie is breathtaking. This is a lighthearted, often funny film with some good scenes and a lovely cast. Ask not for whom the wedding bell tolls; it tolls for thee. (2008, 88 min.) 	Xana and Dax, When Opposites Attract Tony Comstock We love Comstock Films here. We've been huge fans since day one of the first Comstock release, Marie and Jack: A Love Story. And now we have Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract, and we love it, too. Xana is a buxom blonde who knows just what she wants; Dax is dark, slender, and young and eager. 	Zazel Collector's Edition Gorgeous, exotic, imaginative, exquisitely well-made... what other extravagant words of praise can we lavish on this video? A series of fantastical vignettes taking place in the mind of a beautiful artist, Zazel has a lush, surreal, other-worldly quality to it, with an inventive eye and a slow, sensual pace. Reaching beyond your usual high production values into real artistry, the movie has some truly stunning work with body paint and costuming, marvelous effects with color and light, and camerawork with a real eye for composition. (It does slip over into pretentious silliness now and then, but we like the movie enough to let that slide.) Clearly a labor of love, it is unlike any porn movie we've seen — which, in this industry, is high praise indeed.
