Unlike the others in the I Rub... series, this little guy is turbo-powered and insertable. Shaped like a small bowling pin, the I Rub My Penguin has a 1-1/2" head, actually 1-3/4" if taking the beak into consideration, and is a bulbous shape that pops inside easily and stays put. The vibrator is located inside the head of the bird, and while this penguin might never be able to fly, pressing on its tummy will cycle through three different vibrator speeds. The intensity of this small vibe is surprisingly high, much stronger than the Duckie and Fishie, not to mention virtually silent. It is a little bit louder in the water than on dry land, but nothing shower noise can't disguise. When we first heard about the I Rub My Wormie, our first reaction was, "Um, wormie?" But when we got it, it proved as cute as can be; it's really much more a caterpillar than a worm of any variety. Lily is covered in a plastic that has a somewhat silky feel to it, almost like a silicone surface although it is not silicone. The main flaw we see is that folks with larger fingers might find it difficult or impossible to fit it onto their fingers because the springs in the adjustable grippers are quite tight. Even folks who can fit it onto their fingers may find that their finger goes numb after a bit. But there's a work-around! It worked perfectly well for our tester to hold it gripped (in her right hand) with her thumb along one side, her index finger going over the top of the grippers to control the angle of approach at the end with the tip of that finger, and the rest of her hand in a bit of a fist so the right side of the body was held against the left side of her folded middle finger. (That sounds a lot more complicated than it really is; have you ever noticed how difficult it is to describe things like how to grip something? See a photo here.)
