Electrical stimulation play, or e-stim, has been a Blowfish speciality for years. We're very pleased to have one of the most comprehensive lines of e-stim toys you can find.

For a lot of people, e-stim is a scary topic, made more so by the expense and complexity of the toys. But it doesn't have to be scary, complicated, or even that expensive.

First, what's e-stim, anyway? E-stim uses the fact that the nerves are electro-chemical to stimulate them using outside electrical impulses. That's a fancy way of saying that running electricity through the body can do the same kind of thing that nerves do: Stimulate the muscles to contract, cause sensations, that sort of thing.

The first questions that nearly everyone has about e-stim are: Isn't that dangerous? and Doesn't that hurt?

To the first, if you observe some very basic safety rules, you can keep it completely safe. None of the electrical devices we sell put out enough current to be dangerous as long as they are always used below the waist. The only serious danger from e-stim is if current flows across the heart, but electricity doesn't "wander around" the body; if you are only playing below the waist, all is well.

To the second question, the real answer to "Doesn't that hurt?" is "Well, do you you want it to?" E-stim toys are all capable of producing a huge range of sensations from barely tingling to serious sensation play that is not for beginners. Electrosex Remote-Control Butterfly

The Electrosex Remote Butterfly was the first remote device we tested that truly works. Not only can this silver butterfly sensor be turned off and on by a partner, the levels at which it stimulates can be changed remotely as well (we have tested it up to level 8 which seemed pretty dang high to us, but it goes even higher). We found that the remote function works through clothes, through solid walls, and from over 200 feet away (even though the packaging cites the range to be 3 meters from the target). If you have ever wanted your playmate to have something buzzing their private places that you have full control over from afar- look no further.

This toy is an electrical stimulator. This means that it runs high-voltage but very low-current electrical signals through the genitals and other sensitive parts of the body to cause the muscle to contract. In the case of this butterfly, the body of the insect is the generator (about the size of a remote car door key chain). Two sticky pads in the shape of silver wings emerge from under the generator and can be stuck onto any part of the body (hair is not a problem). Also, the wings will stick and re-stick a number of times before you will need to splash them with a tiny bit of water to reactivate the adhesive. The current emitted from the butterfly is then distributed out through the pad and onto the surface of your skin. Additionally, there is a small remote device (also key chain sized) that can control the butterfly, turning it off and on, up and down.

While electrical stimulation may sound like a painful activity, the sensation (at least on the lower levels) feels more like a thrumming vibration. As the intensity increases, the throbbing becomes more acute, like a pinching buzz. This quite unique and exquisite sensation results from muscles and nerves being stimulated. 	MyStim Digital Power Box MyStim, you stim, we all scream for e-stim (so to speak, of course). We're thrilled to have the MyStim Digital Power Box and all of its attachments here at Blowfish! The MyStim line was designed to be an easy-to-use e-stim system with careful directions, beginner-friendly suggestions, and quality attachments designed specifically for sexual pleasure. 	MyStim Don Juan Probe This MyStim Don Juan Probe is one of the smaller e-stim attachments we've seen. Only 3/4 of an inch wide, this slippery, slim number is roughly finger sized! Without all of the usual girth to distract us from the e-stim sensations, we could really focus on exactly what was going on with the patterns we dictated on our power boxes. This toy is a bit tricky as it needs to be inserted at least 2 inches for you to feel the impulses, but not more than 3 inches or the whole MyStim Don Juan Probe could slip inside. 	MyStim Julian Bulb The MyStim Julian Bulb is quite an unusual vaginal toy. Instead of filling up the pussy like a dildo, this "bulb" slips inside and rests around the edges of the vaginal wall. Even though there was a toy tucked up inside our pussies, we hardly noticed there was a toy in there at all once the power box was turned on. 	Electrosex Parachute When we were first introduced to this new line of E-stim gear, we asked the manufacturer what their most popular attachment was.
