Note: There is some question about the value of nonoxynol-9 as a toy cleaner. HIV, the AIDS virus that the nonoxynol-9 is intended to target, is fairly easy to kill outside of the human body, and other sexually transmitted diseases may not be affected by it. Clinical research has shown that Nonoxynol-9 is a soft tissue irritant and may even allow viruses to be more easily transmitted once inside the body. We encourage you to rinse your toys thoroughly after washing them with this product to avoid irritation. Other cleansing agents such as alcohol, bleach, Betadine, or boiling water may be more effective (depending on what your toys are made of).
