Hitachi Magic Wand
|
It should come as no surprise to you, but we like vibrators. No, we
LOVE vibrators. We love them all the time. In fact, if we didn't have
work to do, it would be fair to assume that we'd spend all our time
out in the warehouse, rolling around with our vibrating friends. It
is because we have such a deep love for the little buggers that we
are very careful about taking good care of them. Vibrators can be fickle creatures to care for; there are so many types and varieties on types that it can sometimes be a bit of a head-scratcher on how to best do it. When properly looked after, you can extend the life of your favorite buzzing toy beyond that of one that has been carelessly tossed behind the bed. Simple maintenance of your vibrator will help ensure that it will not give up the ghost at the worst moment or end up decaying before your very eyes. Cord vibrators, namely the Magic Wand, Wahl, and Eroscillator, are among the easiest to take care of. First of all, they clean up nicely. A gentle wipe-down with a warm washcloth will keep them clean and sparkly between uses. The manufacturers of the Magic Wand even say that the head cover is removable for washing, and instructions for doing so are provided in every box. One of the main issues surrounding the cord vibrators is with the cord itself. While these are very well-made items, you want to make sure that you haven't kinked up the cord too much, in your masturbatory thrashings. There are thin wires in there that can, after much bending and twisting, become disconnected. This is a rare problem with these vibrators, but it does happen and it's worth mentioning. To prevent such damage, make sure that any twists and knots in your toy's cord are straightened out after use, and that they are stored with their cords neatly rolled up. If you do happen to have a vibrator with a faulty cord, please don't try to fix it yourself. Return it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. Battery vibrators are a bit more difficult to care for. We know that, in a perfect world, your vibrator would always be close at hand with fresh batteries already in it, just raring and waiting to go. However, you should never store your vibrator with the batteries inside. With some models, it is difficult to tell when they have been properly turned off, causing the batteries to drain and often leaving you with just enough juice left to get you hot and let you down. In the worst cases, batteries will sometimes corrode inside the body of the vibrator, leaving you with a toy that must then be thrown away. Remember, battery acid next to the pink bits is a bad thing! To keep this terrible fate from happening to your toy, we suggest putting your batteries, along with the clean vibrator, inside of a ziplock bag. Not only will this make sure that you don't lose track of your batteries, it will also make sure that your toy is clean and ready to use when you need it most. As a side note: if your vibrator comes with a slip of paper or plastic inside the battery compartment, these were placed there by the manufacturer to keep the batteries in their proper place and should not be removed. There are a few types of battery vibrators that need extra-special attention, namely the Bullet-style Vibrators, and the Audi-Oh. These tiny wonders are lovely when slipped inside of you, and they work very nicely with a number of other toys we carry. There are also a few silicone dildos (Bobbi Sue and Treasure Chest) and butt-toys (Tristan 2 (with hollow neck) and French Kiss) that use a bullet-style vibrator (the Hyper Bullet or Silver Bullet) to give it its kick. Also, the Mini Bullet Vibe and the Audi-Oh will fit inside any of the various silicone vibrators and butt-toys that normally hold a Micro-Mini Vibe. The insertion and removal of the bullets from any of these toys is greatly aided by using a bit of lube. Experience has shown that tugging on the cord to remove a bullet vibe usually results in the removal of the cord from the vibe itself. The cords of these can sometimes be delicate, often coming loose or breaking altogether when trying to remove it from a toy or other tight spot. Because of this, we suggest when inserting the bullet into a toy that you put some lube on it first and when putting it directly inside yourself or a lover you put it in a condom first. Not only will using it inside of a condom make removal easier, it will also keep your toy cleaner. In fact, using condoms on most all vibrators is generally a good idea. A condom is easily stretched over the head of the Magic Wand, allowing you to use it with multiple partners without the worry of spreading anything more, uh, interesting than a pleasant tingle. Just be sure to use a new condom with each partner! Condoms also work quite nicely with phallic-shaped vibrators, allowing you to transfer your toy from butt to cunt with a short intermission for putting a fresh condom on it. Some vibrator materials react badly (think melting and oozing here) to the ingredients in some lubed condoms. Because of this, we suggest using non-lubed latex condoms to make sure your vibrator stays healthy and happy (try our Durex Unlubed Condoms which we sell for precisely that reason). A clean vibrator is next to a godly vibrator. An unclean vibrator is not only nasty, but can lead to the break down of parts, both yours and the vibrators. Although it can be annoying to rise from your post-coital bliss to get up and wash your mechanical lover off, keeping your vibrator clean is really a fairly simple task. Most materials are easy to clean. For every day cleaning, gently washing it with a mild soap and some water will do the trick. We also recommend ForPlay Adult Toy Cleanser, which will disinfect your toys quite nicely. Do note that ForPlay Adult Toy Cleanser contains Nonoxynol-9, which causes an allergic reaction in some individuals. Some materials, such as glass and metal, respond very well to cleaning with alcohol. However, we do not suggest using alcohol or oil-based soaps for cleaning toys made of Cyberflesh, jelly, silicone or hard plastic. Whichever method you use, remember to rinse your toys well after cleaning. And, in all cases, please be sure to keep liquids out of the mechanical parts of your vibrator. That would be a bad thing. While we recommend washing many other sex toys in the dishwasher, vibrators should never be cleaned this way. It will screw up the mechanisms and leave you with a toy that doesn't work. Just thought we'd warn you about that. Remember to thoroughly dry your toys before storing them. And, if your toy is made from Cyberflesh, you'll probably want to give it a light dusting of cornstarch to maintain the integrity of the toy. Storing your vibrators can sometimes be... interesting. For instance, the jellies have a tendency to eat away at the Cyberflesh or Softwear Skin stuff when they're allowed to touch. And sometimes the jellies even cannibalize each other. It's a vibrator-eat-vibrator world out there! If you have a few toys made from different materials, it is safest to store them separately or to put them in plastic baggies rather than let them touch. You'll be glad you did. Storing waterproof vibes is a whole other issue. While you might want to keep your vibe in the shower or bath for easy access, this is rarely a good idea, as very few toys are completely water tight. You should make sure that your toy is completely dry inside and out after every use. And, as with other vibrators, you don't want to store them with the batteries in. Well, that certainly was a lot of information! While it may seem a bit daunting, a little common sense and proper care will ensure that your vibrator will be there when you need it. Remember also to read the packaging that comes with your vibrator to see if the manufacturer has any specific care guidelines to maintain your toys in peek condition.
