The Convent of Hell
Barreiro, Noe
This delightfully drawn book can't seem to make up its mind about where
it's going, but it sure has fun getting there. It's the old yarn about a
convent of nuns gone bad, starting in the Lovecraftian vein, then
heading into the purely Satanistic, and taking a final turn into the
absurdly surreal. Multi-phallused demons, Beelzebub as a goat with the
biggest dick you ever saw, beautiful nuns being wildly debauched — what
more could you want? Well, how about an unintentionally comedic ending
with the Pope's shock troops with consecrated weenies? Knights Templar,
no less! Very silly, very sexy — classic anti-Catholic kink. All thumbs
up here in the Blowfishie office! (1997, 59 pp.)

Small Favors: Girly Porno Comic Collection: Book One
Coover, Colleen
Eros Comix
Annie has a small problem with masturbation; according to the Queen of
her Conscience, she's already used up her lifetime allotment and she's
only twenty-one years old. The solution is Nibbil, the supposed cosmic
keeper of her conscience. And this tiny little nymph does manage to keep
Annie from masturbating too much — by becoming Annie's very own sexual
playmate.
This absolutely adorable, black and white comic features a
fresh, healthy enjoyment of sex that is all too rare in the genre. The
sex is rompy and fun, with some light BDSM and a playful attitude we
just love. We can't recommend this one highly enough. (2002, 128 pp.)

girls! Includes three complete issues of Small Favors, plus extra

Scarlett Takes Manhattan
Crabapple, Molly and John Leavitt
Fugu Press
Scarlett O'Herring: Dancer, fire-breather, courtesan, and the star of
Molly Crabapple's first graphic novel from Fugu Press, Scarlett
Takes
Manhattan!
Written by long-time collaborator John Leavitt,
Scarlett follows the rise of Miss O'Herring from tragedy
(her mother crushed by copulating circus elephants) through her grand
entrance on the stage (accidental and sans costume) to her triumph as
the fire-breathing queen of burlesque. It's a sexy, decadent romp
through the slums and palaces of New York's Gilded
Age.
Scarlett Takes Manhattan brings to life a character
from Molly and John's long-running web comic "Backstage" from the
collective
Act-i-vate.
As Molly says, "It has Tammany Hall and bad politics and
early-lesbian culture in it. And it's very
dirty."
And we even have celebrity
quotes!
"With its tongue in several cheeks at once, Scarlett
overheats the Victorian erotic memoir into a madly funny firepit of
debauchery. Disgustingly wonderful." — Warren Ellis, author of
Crooked Little Vein, Transmetropolitan,
etc.
"Molly Crabapple is THE artist of our time. I am desperately in
love with her vision, her world, her characters, her art—and I
want to live there." &mash; Margaret
Cho
"If we look below Molly Crabapple's exuberant colours and pretty,
sensuous linework, at its heart Scarlett Takes Manhattan is
pure punk: ebullient, bawdy, irreverent and libertine." — Bryan
Talbot, writer/artist of
Grandville
"Scarlett Takes Manhattan is
erotically charged, funny, imaginative and stylishly antiquarian. It
makes me want to climb inside the pages and close the book behind me
forever." — Trav S.D., author of No Applause, Just Throw
Money: The Book that Made Vaudeville
Famous
"What can a pair of retro-eyed hipsters do with our
long-hidden, nasty, turn-of-the-century world of popular entertainment
and its wondrously depraved political environs? Well, they could have
concocted some limp-legged fantasy novel with Dickensian touches and
19th-century slang. But that's not what Molly Crabapple and John
Leavitt's approach: they have created an outré graphic novel
series about a saucy waif vamping her way through the stagedoors of the
Big City vaudeville scene. Their Scarlett Takes Manhattan
nods knowingly to the phantasmagoria and transsexualities of The
Yellow Kid, Winsor McCay, Little Anny Fanny, and R.
Crumb. It is an erotic and historical visual hoot. We can only hope that
their twisted storytelling and nipple-bearing characters continue to
appear in print form. Get it before the cartoon censors lower the
curtain on their orgasmic heroine or it manifests itself in Off-Off-Off
Broadway production." >— Mel Gordon, author of Voluptuous
Panic: The Erotic World of Weimar
Berlin

The New Bondage Fairies: Fairie Fetish
Kondom
Eros Graphic Albums
Attention all kinky bug-lovers! The New Bondage Fairies: Fairie Fetish
is a collection of the strange-yet-popular Bondage Fairies comix. If
you've never seen it before, it's... unique. The pretty little fairies
flit around in their bondage gear, falling prey to preying mantis, being
rogered by robins and even banged by beetles. All of it done in Manga
style. The sex is sometimes consensual, often not, and the consequences
for their randy attackers/ seducers is sometimes a little hard to watch.
This edition even has fairie-human sex, as well as a special "The Care
and Feeding of Fairies" section at the back. Definitely NOT for the
faint of heart. (2003, 154 pp.)

Borgia: Blood for the Pope
Manara, Milo and Jodorowsky
Heavy Metal
If you like a lot of violence mixed in between (and sometimes with) your
sex, you just might like this unusual erotic comic. Borgia
is the illustrated version of Rodrigo Borgia's rise to popedom in 1492,
and the tale is wrought with degenerate sex, gruesome violence and
underhanded political scheming. This reviewer is sensitive to violence,
and yet could not look away from this vivid and very disturbing comic.
Illustrated by Manara, though, so at least you know the women are going
to be hot. (2004, 56 pp.)

Garden, Hydrophidian centers on the (very explicit
and erotic) doings of the Water Snake Clan, who are expecting the return

In a Metal Web
Manning, Michael
NBM
The third in the very popular and wonderfully naughty Spider
Garden series, In a Metal Web continues the story of
Sasaya Nijan, once a slave given to the Sacred Angrogyne Shaalis to pay
off a gambling debt, now the voluptuous caretaker of Hir sexual
playground known as the Spider Garden. But from the ocean depths the
Serpentine Sisters watch, planning to trick Sasaya into their devious
plans. Michael Manning's artwork (which also graces our Blowfish
Mermaid Mug) is as sharp as ever, and the sex depicted here is so
hot the review copy kept mysteriously disappearing from our Book Buyer's
desk. Definitely recommended. (2003, 70 pp.)

Tranceptor, Book Two: Iron Gauge, Part One
Manning, Michael and Patrick Conlon
Amerotica
After far too long, the sequel to the stunning Traceptor: Volume
One is here! Tranceptor: Volume Two: Iron Gauge
picks up right after the first one leaves off, with the workers
nervously trying to get a tranceptor to sign to cover the damages she
inflicted on their stables. She puts the messenger through some
delightfully naughty paces. Meanwhile, her rival tranceptor gives her
ponygirls a chance to strip down and sponge each other off while she
gets a sensual massage from a worker she picked up. The sex that follows
is anything but ordinary, but definitely hot. Artist Michael Manning
brings deliciously kinky sex alive in black-and-white drawings, and the
world created by author Patrick Conlon is ripe with intrigue and
possibilities for even more outrageous sexcapades. A delicious sequel
which answers some questions but leaves us panting for more, more, more!

Kung Fu Sex Fighters! Volume 1
Metson, Richard
NBM
What a fun comic! Eight rompy sex comedies, each set in what appears to
be, more or less, ancient China. The women are breathtakingly beautiful,
the knights noble and true, the bad guys sufficiently vile and the
aliens appropriately bewildered by our world. Why, yes, there are aliens
in several of these stories, and they add the perfect amount of absurd
humor to clinch the plot. We were very impressed with the clever way sex
is used as a mainstay of all of these stories. The sex is hot, and it
took us awhile to even notice that it's not quite as graphic as it could
be (erections are seen only through clothing, close-ups of the vagina
are avoided and sex is presented mid-coitus, not from insertion).
Overall, the best new erotic comic we've seen in months! (2005, 60 pp.)

Horny Tails
Moore, Richard
Mmmmm, angels and demons, monsters, a lady and forest hunks, a space
chick and a space alien, a lady and a leprechaun, big cats — all
fucking. This book is a collection of stories from several of Moore's
titles, including The Pound and M'Lady. The common theme
seems to be huge dicks shoved up female bottoms; while some stories also
have a bit of violence, it's all in keeping with the story lines. The
artwork is bold and crisp and hot hot hot! (2001, 91 pp.)

Short Strokes
Moore, Richard
Amerotica
If you liked Horny Tails you should check out this latest
collection of naughty short stories by artist Richard Moore. There's a
little bit of science fiction, a touch of high fantasy, and a whole
bunch of furry action going on (though even those of us not "into" furry
culture think these stories are both charming and hot). A new M'Lady and
some Teddies with 'Tudes are among the goodies you'll find in this
collection. There's even a couple erotic cross-over shorts from Moore's
non-erotic titles (a Far West spread and two risque
Boneyard ads), which are a hoot if you're familiar with those
titles (and still fairly amusing if not). A very hot, raunchy little
comic. (2005, 64 pp.)

Twenty
Von Gotha
Priaprism Press
If you liked Von Gotha's The Troubles of Janice series,
chances are you'll like Twenty. Although set in the near
future instead of the late 18th century, Twenty still
offers the truly delectable plot of a young, nubile woman being
initiated into sex, somewhat against her will: the title character is
sent to a "new school" where practical sex education is taught
and the uniforms are designed for very easy access to the student body.
What follows is all kinds of debauchery, with a bit of kidnapping and
BDSM thrown in to advance the plot. We just love the way Von Gotha draws
lush young women, and his orgy scenes are some of our favorites — so
what if the plot is just a bit silly? Twenty still gets us
hot.
Full color. (1999, 64 pp.)
