This book is almost exactly what the title says: beautiful Asian women
tied up with rope. From the introduction we know that these are
well-educated, liberal, independent women, certainly not the
stereotypical submissive Asian female being taken advantage of. And you
can see that control, confidence and independence come through in the
photographs, no matter how tightly bound the women are. The photographs
are stunning, exquisitely lit black-and-white photos with well thought
out poses and, of course, gorgeous women (in a few cases, joined by
men). Our only nit pick with this book is that in some of the photos the
women are more posed with rope than actually bound by it, but
for the most part the bodies are bound up nice and tight with varying
degrees of intricate knots.

Big almost doesn't begin to describe this hefty tome that's
chock full of big, beautiful boobies. Arranged by decade, this book
contains nude pictures of women with large natural breasts (it is not
coincidence that the three decades covered are the 1950's, 1960's and
the 1970's, after which most big breasts in nude pictures are
artificially created). Because of the time period, you're going to see
women with more natural bodies (read: you can't see their rib cages!
some even have pubic hair!), and come into contact with hair styles that
your mother wore (though some are "so out they're in again"). There are
little features on certain famous strippers and burlesque dancers, which
make for some fascinating reading, but for the most part you've just got

over the years, have you?). The text is pretty cute -- though some of us
found it a bit twee in places, most of us enjoyed the lighthearted feel
it gives the book. The activity pages in the middle are pretty funny,

smells just like ____"), but that just makes it even more appropriate
for slumber parties, bachelorette parties and wymyn's retreat weekends.

Fresh: Girls of Seduction were at least 18 years of age at
the time these photos were taken, even though most of them don't look
it. In fact, the point of this book is to take young, but adult, women
and make them into pseudo-Lolitas via the tried-and-true methods of
adding braces, kneesocks or tap shoes (well in one case) and sometimes
braiding their hair or putting it up in ponytails. Nearly every
girl-woman appears with little or no makeup on, and is smiling for the
camera. Actually, that's what sells the youth in this book: the
posing-for-the-yearbook pearly white smiles and awkward,
I-think-this-might-be-sexy poses that no professional erotic model would
do. It all adds up to an air of youth, vulnerability and innocence that,
in a way, is also almost uncomfortably seductive. The nude parts are
mostly breasts (often with the shirt pulled-up), bottoms, peeks of
girlish panties, with very few bare pussy-shots. We found the
introduction a little too spot-on and creepy in the way it discusses the
compelling sexiness of a young woman, so we're gonna recommend you skip

Industry. Photojournalist Michael Grecco set up a booth at the
2006 and 2007 AVN awards and shot -- and interviewed-- many of the most
important, unique and fascinating people in the porn industry. Following
the format of a full-page, full-color picture (or two), most are
accompanied by a paragraph detailing the significant history of the
individual in question (sometimes with fun quotes or body measurements
or what they did before porn, etc). From Jenna Jameson to Joanna Angel,
from Larry Flynt to Seymour Butts, from Ron Jeremy to Buck Angel, it's
an engrossing look at what it means to be in the industry. The
photographs appear very natural and realistic (you can see wrinkles and
pores sometimes), though Grecco does thank his retoucher in the
acknowledgements. Remarkably frank, this book makes the sex industry
into what it really is -- simply a way of life, not some scandalous,
snickering secret to be ashamed of. We had a hard time putting this one
down, and, considering the size of this gorgeous coffee-table book,

Wow, what a fine collection of photographs! This is one of the rare
photo books that is immediately pounced on and devoured here in the
Blowfish offices, despite most of us having "seen it all" already.
There's an immediacy and an unmistakable intimacy to these pictures that
most polished-and-posed erotic photo compositions lack. The facial
expressions, the bodies in motion, the settings all come across as
natural and engaging to the viewer; indeed, one feels invited in, asked
to watch these sweet, hot little moments captured on film. The range of
subjects is astounding and refreshing as well -- here, finally, you can
see hetero, gay, lesbian, trans-gender, old, young, skinny and zaftig,
leather and lace, all in one volume. Even the more extreme acts depicted
here -- such as the vaginal fisting and piss-play -- are presented in a
matter-of-fact manner, lessening the shock value. Don't miss the

An absolutely fascinating look into Japan's sex trade, but just saying
that doesn't do this book, let alone Japan's sex trade, justice.
Pink Box is the first book of its kind, written and
photographed by a western woman who, though lots of persistence and not
a few connections, managed to talk her way behind the doors that say
"Japanese Only!" and take photographs of what goes on. From host and
hostess clubs, where attractive young people, skilled in the art of
conversation, provide companionship reminiscent of their geisha
foremothers, to elaborate soaplands where women dressed in fantasy garb
(harem girls, nascar girls, brides) bathe and service customers, to
peeping rooms, to fashion health clubs (also full of costumed girls:
waitresses, nurses) to image clubs where the rooms, as well as the
girls, are dressed up for a particular fantasy (think classrooms,
doctor's offices, even crowded subway cars called "pervert trains").
Yes, the girls (and guys) are hot, and often naked, but what kept us
poring over the pages was a combination of delight and wonder at a

such a way as to complement one another, continue an image or a theme,
or simply extend the natural world into the realm of the surreal. For
example: a breast and nipple in one frame become the eye of the profile
in the next. A penis seems to extend outward from a woman's mouth, the
head pointing down in the next frame. A thigh extends upwards out of the
frame and into the next, becoming the bottom of a torso getting fucked
up the ass. The spaces between the photographs don't detract from the
optical illusions going on here, though we will note that not everything
is so neatly lined up: sometimes photos are simply arranged by theme
(assholes, and things that look like assholes) and not every photo is
erotic (though most are). Be warned that not only are golden showers
depicted in this book, but sex with what probably is menstrual blood
graces a few pages (it's not entirely easy to tell since the entire book
is black-and-white). Overall, a fascinating glimpse into one couple's

Most have short inspiring comments by the expectant mothers (and in

photos of the same woman at different stages of her pregnancy. A truly
lovely, sexy and reverent book celebrating motherhood and life. Very
highly
recommended.

By far the fanciest Roy Stuart book yet! Not only does this hefty
hardcover contain more fantastic erotic images full of passion and
intensity, but inside the back cover is a decided bonus: a 68 minute
limited edition DVD, with 13 minutes from Stuart's feature film "The
Lost Door". The DVD solves the mystery of just how Stuart
manages to make his subjects seem as if they're caught mid-scene: they
are. Be warned though that this DVD is rather artsy; while there are
some sex scenes, they're intercut with straight-up photo sessions and
surreal music and imagery. Still, this combo deal is a must for any Roy
Stuart fan.

This exquisite picture book pushes traditional gender boundaries into a
pleasing, nebulous shape. We have to agree with its claim to be a
"shameless and thrilling archive of radical queer sexualities from 1978
to the present day". Many of these photographs appear "normal" at first
glance, but look deeper to find that the dapper young man in the suit is
really a young lady, that the cutie in the corset is really a slender
man. Other photographs simply depict straight-up dyke sex, leather bois,
plain ol' kinky folks, transgendered people, and other participants in
the radical queer communities of London and San Francisco from the past
30 years. A fascinating look at some of the most interesting sex around.

Ever wonder what went on after a soft-core spanking shoot was over?
Well, photographer Eric Wilkins, a photographer for Swish! magazine back
in the 1970's, kept his finger on the shutter and took pictures of what
happened after the official shoot. Spank! is a collection
of these photographs that were considered too raunchy for those old
soft-core magazines, and it's seriously one of the hottest photo
collections we've seen in awhile. The spankings are obviously real (you
can tell from the gradual reddening of the girl's bottoms and the
occasional "impact shot"), with the spanker sometimes pulling at the
buttock, stretching and exposing the wet cunt and ass of the bent-over
spankee. But it gets even better, with D/S blowjobs, diddling and real
fucking. Sure, the hairstyles are amusingly out-of-date, but you're
probably not going to be focusing on their heads much (we will note that
there's a lot more natural pubic hair here than you usually see in
modern pictures, which we think is really cool). If spanking is on the
list of your favorite activities, you're gonna want to see this book.

Spotlighting coquettish art nudes featured on erotic playing cards, Mark
Lee Rotenberg's Stacked Decks stimulates both your nethers
and the naughtier side of your intellect. Gaggles of babes from around
the world, dating from circa 1835 to the mid 1970s, traipse through this
diverse gathering from Rotenberg's personal collection. Pin-ups, of
course, predominate: Bettie Page-esque mini-cover models promise light
bondage, sapphic satisfaction, perky pasties, naturally buxom beauty,
and come-hither glances. The atmospheres depicted on these cards range
from raw photography (a predecessor to today's indy aesthetic, perhaps)
to exceedingly elaborate artwork. A pleasant, albeit brief, cherry on
top: Rotenberg cohesively details the history of art nude through the
medium of card decks. This reviewer's favorites include: a suggestive
and somewhat endearing Strip Tease deck, black-and-white
cat-fight/power-play photos, and the lush, smolderingly
Renaissance-esque beauty of the Le Florentin deck. Of notable
significance, too, are naughty comics (Archie gone
vaudevillian), classic French nudes, Esquire Magazine decks,
East African and Asian fetish samplings and the obligatory guns, guns,
guns. Did we mention the wolf-masks and stuffed koalas? Overall, a great
deal of naughty fun is to be had in these Stacked Decks.

In the introduction to this book, the photographer, Didier Carre, speaks
of his love for women, and dedicates his book to them. He tells us that
his models, even though they're nude and spread for you on the page, are
stainless -- nothing can humiliate or harm them, as they hold a power
within. While we can't speak of their power within, the power of these
images is undeniable. Clean black-and-white photography, smooth young
bodies revealing parts of themselves that most nudes don't reveal. Not
only do they spread their legs, they use their hands to open themselves
further, and clear toys to explore the depths (both vaginal and anal)
that remain hidden still. The settings are all "photography studio,"
with rumpled sheets and props used sparingly. Slightly less raunchy than
Porn Art or Bad Girl, but of a similar
sensibility, these remarkable ladies are as mesmerizing as they are

Gorgeously photographed and defiantly questioning, this book
dares you to look beyond traditional "binary" definitions of gender and
sexuality, and spend some time letting your eyes wander over alluring
human bodies doing seductive things. (Both traditional and strikingly
non-traditional beauty abound in this
book.)
Open Sublime Mutations to a random page, and
you're likely to see a photograph that is lush with contradictions. Read
it cover to cover, and the different series of photos in the book take
you on a journey that redefines femininity, pornography, preference,
self-love, transsexual, intersex, and even the concept of gender itself.
The rich juxtapositions of ideas, images and expectations found here
include self-identified dykes and gay men getting it on with each other,
boy-butch lesbians, girl-pretty boys, and abundant "natural" and
"produced" androgyny, including some mesmerizing close-ups of
intersexual
genitals.
This reviewer was captivated and fascinated from the
instant she saw the cover. If you are aroused, titillated, or even just
intrigued when that beautifully ambiguous person walks past you, then
you need to see this

The Valley

Photographer Larry Sultan seems to have a knack for not only capturing
the feel of a particular time and place but also including the viewer as
part of the scene. The Valley takes us to a porn shoot in
the San Fernando Valley, yet the tone of these photographs is anything
but salacious. Action scenes are shot not from the movie camera's point
of view, but from off-stage, to the side, through sliding glass doors or
with the director in the shot, giving you the sense of being on the set
itself, watching how the scenes are considered, changed, created. Better
still are the "resting" shots, the porn stars in curlers on their cell
phones, taking a food break, or all done up in leather, waiting for the
next scene to begin. The entire book is intensely real and feels
incredibly honest even as it pulls back the curtain and reveals the
artificial scrim backgrounds and shelf of dolls above the bed, just out
of the final shot.
